Ebay Tips & Safety Advice
Do you like to shop in your underwear? The internet is just the place for you. There is a wonderful world of bargains online every single day. One of the best places to find a great deal is Ebay. I have been an Ebay buyer since the beginning of it's existence. I am also an Ebay seller and have been selling for over a year now. As a seller I disappointingly have seen prices drop, but as an Ebay buyer, I gladly take advantage of these bargains. There are a few key elements to keep in mind when looking for a great Ebay deal: Timing, Buying in Bulk, and Listing mistakes.
Timing
When using Ebay to purchase goods, timing is everything. The time of day a listing ends, the day of the week a listing ends, and the time of your bid makes all the difference when it comes to the final value price. When searching for great ebay deals, try to look for listings that end during odd hours of the day. For example, you will get a better deal if you buy something during rush hour and supper time. Also, Sunday mornings and afternoons tend to have cheaper ending values. Basically, when people are away from the computer, auctions don't get as much action
The time you place your bid is very important as well. Your goal is to be the highest bidder at the lowest price. The only way to do this is to bid in the last 2 minutes of an auction. This way it will prevent you from being overbid by other bidders. There just won't be time for them to counter bid. Bidding in the last 2 minutes also prevents you from overbidding just to win an auction. Some people get out of hand with bidding wars and pay too much for an item.
Buy In Lots
Buy in Lots Some weeks are tougher than others. Don't give up!Ebay is the perfect venue to buy in bulk. You would be amazed, but there are a lot of grocery items listed on Ebay every single day. Items such as over-the-counter medicine sell in bulk a lot cheaper than any brick and mortar store. Since groceries are a fairly untapped market, Ebay is a great place to take advantage of cheap bargains.
Buying in bulk also saves money on shipping. For example, you can buy a whole lot of jeans in your size from the same seller in the same auction. Usually these jeans will sell for much cheaper than if they were listed individually. Plus, another advantage of buying a bulk lot is that you save on shipping costs. Shipping 10 items together is a lot cheaper than shipping 10 items individually.
Listing Mistakes
Listing Mistakes Quite a bargain can be made on Ebay due to lazy sellers. If a seller makes a mistake in his/her listing, there is less chance that there will be high demand for that particular item. For example, a seller might misspell the title of the listing. By doing so, he/she prevents anyone that spells the listing correctly in the search field from seeing the misspelled auction. Also, some sellers mistakenly put their listings in the wrong categories. This will prevent buyers that solely use category searches from seeing their item. If there is a decrease in potential bidders, the ending value of an item will decrease as well
Ebay Safety Tips
Ebay Safety Tips Everybody loves to get a great deal! People spend quite a lot of time searching for good deals on the items they need, and they experience a certain amount of satisfaction when they find those deals. Many people search for deal at garage sales, stores holding sales, flea markets, wholesale warehouses, online and offline auctions.
eBay, and the incredible number of auctions that are constantly being held there, it can become very difficult to locate the items, and at the right price you are willing to pay. Although, it is not that impossible to find these great deals!
To ensure that you get a great deal on the items you purchase through eBay, there are steps you can take that will accomplish this goal. If you follow these steps they will help protect you against fraud on eBay. Online auctions are a lot of fun, but you must use caution as well when biding, and caution entails doing research on the items before you place any bids.
At the Ebay auction, read every word of the description and all the auction details to ensure you know everything. Too much information is always a good thing, especially if that information is about an individual that you are going to be doing business with. Pay special attention to what the descriptions, auction details and what they DO NOT say. For instance, is the item guaranteed ever mentioned? Is the item brand new? Is it really authentic? Is there proof of authenticity? Look for Ebay auctions that provide the right amount of information, and avoid the auctions that do not.
Who will pay the shipping and handling costs? Often, the buyer pays these costs, and sometimes, the seller tries to charge more than the actual shipping and handling costs are. Beware of high shipping costs, especially for items that will be auctioned off at a very low price. Also note when the item is supposed to ship after the bidding has ended. Depending on what you are trying to purchase the item for, it may not arrive in time.
Do not make the standard mistake of bidding on items simply because it is a ‘good deal.’ It is only a good deal if you need the item and many people simply bid for the sake of bidding or winning with no intend or desire for the item in the auction. Before bidding on items that you do want or need, research prices on the Internet and from offline sources as well. An eBay auction of an item does not guarantee that the item is the cheapest price available
Finally, learn as much as you can about the seller. Can you trust them? What is their eBay rating? Read what other buyers are saying about them on their feedback page, because failure to learn as much as possible about the seller can be very costly. Not everybody on Ebay is honest, and the seller may be trying to take advantage of people that simply do not know enough to find out more about them. Scammers auctions sound like really great deals, But, beware of prices to good to be true or seem extremely low priced!
